Institute of Water Problems and Land Reclamation IWP&LR
The Institute was founded on December 23, 1929, in Kharkiv. It resumed its activity in Kyiv after a break caused by the World War after 1944. Its name and subordination changed several times during its existence.
It was named the Institute of Water Problems and Land Reclamation (IWPLR) in 2011.
Today, the Institute works in the system of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine (NAAS).
The scientific potential of the Institute and its research network are made up of 97 scientists, including 10 D.S. and 33 Ph.D. as of 01.01.2023.
During 2021-2025 at the Institute under the Scientific Research Program 4 “WATER SECURITY AND LAND MELIORATION UNDER THE CONDITIONS OF CLIMATE CHANGE” is being conducted the research in the following directions:
- The formation of water security and reproduction of water resources in conditions of climate change;
- The restoration and development of irrigation and drainage in Ukraine under conditions of climate change;
- Use of reclaimed land in conditions of climate change.
